UK workers to receive two-thirds of wages if firms forced to close

The Chancellor of the Exchequer has announced a series of new support measures for people whose work has been impacted by the lockdown, which is expected to be further extended in the coming days.

Two thirds of people’s salaries will be paid and businesses will be able to get cash grants.

It comes as the economic recovery was shown to be less robust than hoped.
