Ukraine appeals for weapons amid warning of new Russian offensive

“Weapons, weapons, weapons” – that was the urgent appeal from Ukraine’s foreign minister to Nato today.

The reason, despite Russia’s withdrawal from around Kyiv and elsewhere, is that the country is now preparing for a major new offensive in the east.

Civilians in Donetsk and Luhansk have been warned to get out while they still can – officials urging them “do not delay”.
