Ukraine crisis: billionaires & banks sanctioned after Russia ‘invasion’

Vladimir Putin left the international community perplexed and dumbfounded when he announced last night that he would recognise the independence of the break away regions of eastern Ukraine, amid a tirade that questioned the right of Ukraine to even exist.

In reaction today, the British, Europeans and the Americans have hit back with sanctions. President Putin this evening added further pressure by hinting that Crimea, annexed in 2014, should be recognised as part of Russia.
