Ukraine crisis: Russia makes demands as Nato offers talks

Nato has invited Russia to new talks in an effort to defuse the rising tension over Ukraine although Moscow has insisted it will not take part unless the West responds to its demands on the future of European security.

100,000 Russian troops are currently massed along the Ukrainian border – and more forces are on their way to Belarus for a major joint military exercise.

Meanwhile US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is flying to Kyiv tomorrow in a show of support.
