Ukraine’s President says an ordinary Saturday has been turned into “a day of pain and loss”. The northern city of Chernihiv was besieged by Russia early in the war. Now hundreds of miles from the frontline, it’s suffering once again. The UN condemned the assault on a populated area of a large city, reiterating that attacking civilians is prohibited under international law.
