In Ukraine, everything changed in a single day.
And Ukrainians have spent every day since fighting to regain their freedom.
Frontlines have shifted shape and territory has changed hands.
Millions have been displaced and many thousands killed.
Today may be just like any other on the battlefields, and in the towns full of worried civilians scanning the skies – but it’s a moment to take stock, for Ukrainians to mourn losses of land and lives.
And to remember four seasons of a war they did not want, and have not won.
