Ukraine war: Russia attack of Odesa a ‘war crime never will be forgotten’

Europe Editor and Presenter

“A war crime which will never be forgotten and forgiven” – Ukraine’s response to Russia’s relentless attacks on the historic centre of Odesa – which left a cathedral in ruins and caused widespread damage in the very heart of the city.

The Kremlin denied it was behind the attack.

President Zelenskyy appealed again for more air defence protection, during talks with Rishi Sunak – who said he was ‘appalled’ by the destruction of Odesa, also known as the Gem on the Black Sea.
