We know there are millions of Ukrainians who fled the country in the past 12 months – and a further seven million are estimated to have been internally displaced.
For them now – ‘home’ is maybe temporary, definitely unfamiliar and hopefully safe.
But there are many too who stayed in their houses – particularly in the capital Kyiv.
Families with children going to school, trying to live normal lives, but to a soundtrack of air-raid sirens, and the constant threat of war.
