UK’s disadvantaged kids to get extra speaking and listening lessons

Children’s education has been hugely disrupted by the pandemic – but the impact has by no means been equal.

Many already disadvantaged students have been falling further behind – especially in early language development. But now there’s a new focus on speaking and listening skills, known as oracy – to make sure that children aren’t held back from realising their full potential.
