‘Ultimate entertainer’ Des O’Connor dies aged 88

He was the “ultimate entertainer” – his prime time career spanned almost half a century, from television chat shows to chart topping records.

Tributes have poured in for Des O’Connor – who’s died after a fall at his home, at the age of 88.

Fellow stars described him as a joy to work with – a man who was never afraid to laugh at himself, who had “talent in every fibre of his being”.
