UN urges Israel to stop airstrikes on Syria

The UN has urged Israel to stop its airstrikes on Syria, saying it could impede the country’s transition to peace and stability. But Israel’s Prime Minister insisted tonight that it was essential to stop weapons falling into the hands of jihadists.

Benjamin Netanyahu appeared in court – his argument is that he has a war to run failing to prevent his trial on corruption charges from going ahead.
