Unemployment rises to two-year high as young suffer greatest number of job losses

This pandemic has undoubtedly been cruel to young people – unable to sit their exams, a high proportion being furloughed.

And today figures reveal that it’s the 16 to 24 year group who’ve also suffered the highest number of job losses.

According to the Office for National Statistics the number of people on the payroll fell by nearly seven hundred thousand since March and more than twenty percent were 16-24 year olds.
