US blocks imports of gloves by Top Glove after Channel 4 News investigation found workers were being exploited

Share prices have crashed in Malaysia’s Top Glove company – which makes PPE for a number of countries including the UK.

Last month this programme exposed claims of shocking working conditions for migrant workers there.

The United States blocked the importation of gloves made by the company in Malaysia saying it had evidence of “forced labour”.

The Department of Health told us it would be raising the issue with NHS suppliers who source PPE in Malaysia.
