US drops aid into Gaza as a quarter of population at risk of famine

America’s decision to airdrop aid is a measure of the increasingly desperate situation in Gaza, with the UN saying at least 10 children have now starved to death.

Getting supplies in has become even more challenging after 115 people were killed when Israeli troops opened fire on a crowd trying to get food from an aid convoy on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the families of hostages still held by Hamas have marched to Jerusalem, demanding their release.
