US: Immediate priority is addressing humanitarian situation in Gaza

The US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has said the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas could offer the chance to “build something more positive” in the region.

He is due to leave for the Middle East this week and said the immediate priority was addressing the humanitarian situation in Gaza, where hundreds of buildings have been completely destroyed.
