US midterms: Georgia race in the balance as voting rules tightened

Washington Correspondent

America is going to the polls in the midterm elections where, if the Republicans take control of Congress, President Biden’s ability to govern for the next two years will be severely limited.

All 435 seats in the House of Representatives are up for grabs, as well 35 out of 100 Senate seats. The Republicans need to gain just one overall to take control.

36 state governorships are also on the line, as well as numerous city mayorships and state-level ballots.

In Georgia a democratic senator and a republican governor are both trying to cling on.
