US plane scatters debris over Denver after engine explosion

It’s every passenger’s nightmare: an engine exploded on board a jet in the United States – leaving those on board scared for their lives and littering the ground below with debris.

The United Airlines flight had just taken off from Denver when the explosion happened – forcing people on the ground to flee as large chunks of metal rained down onto homes and gardens.

Miraculously no one was injured as the plane made an emergency landing.
