US records more than 1000 deaths from Covid-19 for the fourth day in a row as worldwide coronavirus cases surpass 16 million

Across the world there are now more than 16 million cases – with infections rising even in some regions which thought they had it under control.

The United States is still one of the worst affected countries with more than 1100 deaths for the fourth day in a row – and caseloads growing rapidly in dozens of states.
