US Republicans and Hungary’s Orban ‘obstacles’ to Ukraine fight with Russia

Even if we have no international help, Ukraine will fight the Russian invasion alone, President Zelenksyy insisted today – after meeting Norway’s Prime Minister in Oslo. He did secure continued help from Norway – which announced an extra billion Euros in aid.

But Mr Zelenskyy had a more uphill struggle in Washington DC, as he appealed to Congress to unblock a spending bill which includes $50bn to help Ukraine.

This, as Hungary’s leader Viktor Orban signalled he would continue to block Ukraine’s hopes of joining the European Union.
