US threatens retaliation if UK introduces tech tax

President Trump is due back in Washington in the next few hours but his deal-maker Steve Mnuchin the Treasury Secretary is staying behind.

He wasted no time in warning Chancellor Sajid Javid that if the UK went ahead with a tax on tech companies, retaliatory tariffs could be slapped on British exports to America in return.

So where does that leave the President’s promise of a great trade deal after Brexit?
