US unemployment rivals Great Depression with 36m jobless

Nearly three million more people have started claiming unemployment benefits in the United States, taking the total to more than 36 million – numbers now rivalling the figures of the Great depression in the 1930s.

And as President Trump arrives in Pennsylvania, one of the worst hit states economically and a crucial battle ground for the upcoming election, our Washington Correspondent Siobhan Kennedy has travelled to the town of Carlisle to see how people are coping.
