Violent crime strategy launched by government

Home Secretary Amber Rudd launched the Government’s long-awaited serious violence strategy today and vowed to do “whatever it takes” to tackle the recent increase in stabbings, shootings and acid attacks. The plan will get £40 million from the Home Office budget. There will be particular focus on a new offensive weapons act aimed at making it more difficult for people to arm themselves.
