Wayne Couzens: Police should ‘never have employed’ Sarah Everard’s killer, says inquiry

Wayne Couzens – the man who killed Sarah Everard – should never have been given a job as a police officer – an inquiry has found.

It said multiple police forces “repeatedly failed” to spot warning signs, despite a history of offending going back nearly 20 years.

And it warned that without a radical overhaul of policing practices and culture, there is “nothing to stop another Couzens operating in plain sight”.
