I’ve been speaking to Tamer Nafar, who’s dubbed the Godfather of Palestinian rap and co-founder of the first break out Palestinian rap group.
Born and raised in Lod in Israel – which has a large Arab population, many of whom call it Lid – Tamer is also an activist who uses his music to advocate for Palestinian identity and autonomy, while condemning racism and inequality.
Amidst attacks by some Jewish youths on Palestinians, I asked if he felt protected by the Israeli police?
