‘We could see the end of the pandemic by the middle of next year’ says vaccine group CEPI boss

It’s been more than a year since I first interviewed Richard Hatchett, the boss of the vaccines group, Cepi, which stands for the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations.

It’s poured $1.2 billion into funding and delivering Covid vaccines around the globe.

Dr Hatchett forecast the scale of the pandemic way back in January 2020, and in March that year.

Just before we came on air, I asked him about sending global vaccine supplies to India.
