Welsh Conservative leader wins vote for survival then quits

He survived a confidence vote, but Andrew RT Davies has resigned as leader of the Welsh Conservatives in the Senedd anyway.

He said he’d been undermined by what he called a “muesli and croissant brigade” of Welsh Conservatives who had destabilised the party.

It follows a number of controversies and a poll this week, which put the Welsh Conservatives in fourth place.
