Westminster marks 100 years of women’s suffrage

At Westminster, a special event is taking place marking 100 years since women over 30 won the right to vote. It’s been a century of remarkable progress, but the struggle for equality still continues. Theresa May has paid tribute to the “heroic campaigns of the past”, but criticised what she called the coarsening of public debate and online abuse faced by many women in public life.
