Israel says it has prevented a major attack by launching a pre-emptive strike on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said thousands of rockets had been destroyed before they could be launched.

Hezbollah’s leader Sheikh Nasrallah said the group’s operation had been completed as planned, in revenge for the killing of a Hezbollah commander last month.
