White House says it’s aware Houthi strikes ruffled feathers in Middle East but says it had no choice

In Washington, President Biden said he would “not hesitate” to order further military action if the Houthis continued to attack vessels in the Red Sea – as other countries warned against the risk of widening the conflict.

Russia requested an emergency UN security council meeting to discuss the strikes – while Turkey accused the US and Britain of trying to turn the Red Sea into “a sea of blood”.
