Why are disability hate crimes on the rise?

Police forces across England and Wales have received over 10,000 reports of disability related hate crimes in the last year, according to the disability charity United Response and Leonard Cheshire.

It says it’s concerned that specific measures to combat the problem are being merged into wider plans to tackle general crime.
