Why was Windrush Home Office report suppressed for so long?

A long-awaited report into the causes of the Windrush scandal has concluded that decades of immigration law were designed to reduce the number of people of colour living in the UK.

For the last three years, the Home Office has refused to publish the report – which it commissioned – saying it could damage “trust in government”.

But earlier this month, a tribunal said the findings must be disclosed and the Labour government has now published it.
