Windrush families’ anger over slow compensation

The Home Secretary has defended the Windrush Compensation Scheme as new figures emerged showing hundreds of claimants waiting more than a year for a decision.

Speaking on the eve of Windrush Day, Suella Braverman says taking responsibility for the scheme out of Home Office hands’ would cause “delay and needless bureaucracy”.
