Windsor council boss calls for removal of beggars ahead of Royal Wedding

News Correspondent

The Prime Minister has rejected comments from the Conservative leader of Windsor and Maidenhead council who has called on police to clear all rough sleepers from Windsor before the royal wedding in May.

Complaining of “aggressive begging and intimidation”, Councillor Simon Dudley said some rough sleepers had made a “commercial life choice praying on residents and tourists”, words which have caused anger among the town’s homeless people.
