Winter of discontent: more workers take strike action in UK

Border Force staff, some railway workers and driving test examiners have been taking industrial action today, with few signs of unions and employers making much progress on pay deals.

Downing Street has insisted that any fair agreement to end the strike action should not mean “double digit” pay increases, as the UK’s winter of discontent continues.
