Yemen: At least 78 people killed in stampede

At least 78 people have been killed in a crush in Yemen’s rebel-held capital Sanaa.

Those who died were attending a charity event – where cash donations were being handed out to the city’s poor.

The tragedy comes at a time when hopes are rising that an end to the eight-year civil war between Iran-backed rebels and a Saudi-led coalition could be within reach.
