Young volunteers to be exposed to Covid in UK vaccine trial

Young, healthy volunteers in the UK could be deliberately exposed to the Coronavirus under highly controlled conditions to speed up the development of a vaccine. The government is committing more than £30 million to the so-called human challenge trials, which mean researchers don’t have to wait until their subjects come across the infection naturally. It’s hoped the project will begin in January.
