2.      Zooey was named after Zooey Glass, the male character from the famous book ‘Franny and Zooey' by American author J.D. Salinger.

 

3.      Zooey was born into a super talented family and has show-business in her blood. Her father Caleb is an Oscar-winning cinematographer and her mother Mary Jo Deschanel is a famous actress.

 

4.      And her parents didn't just produce one famous daughter, Zooey also has a very famous sibling; her big sister is Emily Deschanel, the star of smash-hit US TV Drama, Bones.

 

5.      Zooey was amongst destined Hollywood stars at high school and her classmates include Jake Gyllenhall and Kate Hudson who she later went on to work together with, for the hit film ‘Almost Famous' in 2000.

 

6.      Zooey is the lead singer and the ‘She' in the musical band ‘She & Him.' The band wrote and sang the theme tune for New Girl.
