Channel 4's monthly report into Video on Demand consumption reveals that VoD viewing of Channel 4 programmes has risen once again in October, pulling in 34m long form VoD views across all platforms up from 33m in September.

Year to date, long form VoD views have now hit 342m, an increase of 15.9% year on year.

Hit comedy series Fresh Meat was the most viewed series in October with just under 3m views.

Hollyoaks continued to build its audience on 4oD, pulling in 2.5m views - a 9.7% increase on September's VoD figures for the series. Made in Chelsea was the third most popular series on 4oD, winning 2.4m views during the month for Season 2.

New series Educating Essex was also a hit on VoD, attracting 1.4m views.

Entertainment was the most viewed genre, bringing in 10.5m views throughout October, an increase of over 2m compared to September.  The popularity of series such as Fresh Meat, Hollyoaks and Shameless enhanced VoD views for drama, which hit 7.4m views.

On the main 4oD platform, 4oD on Channel 4.com, average monthly unique users rose to 4.2m, up from 3.9m in September.
