Ackley Bridge Episode Synopses

Episode 1

In a bid to disguise her sexuality, Nas has agreed to a sham engagement with Naveed - who is also in the closet. But, reeling from the discovery of a family secret, she struggles to continue the lie and emotions run high at the family engagement dinner. Mandy is under pressure from Sadiq as both the Year 7 intake and exam results have plummeted, forcing her to instigate a strict academic regime that causes uproar among staff and students alike. Emma and Mandy’s friendship is tested when they clash over the decision and Emma allows the students to protest.   Elsewhere, it is the day of Sami’s wedding and Emma struggles to hide her feelings for him. Meanwhile, Missy and Nas cause trouble for Jordan when they steal his drugs money whilst in disguise.  

Episode 2

It is the day of baby Jamie’s christening. Ashamed of Cory’s lack of interest, Jordan promises Candice to pay for half, but when The Murgatroyds splash out, Jordan can’t deliver his side of the cash.   Cory and Jordan unite as they try to hustle some money, but a volatile Kevin brings an abrupt end to their antics.   When Cory lashes out during Rugby practice, he makes a confession to Steve. Elsewhere, Missy finds herself at the mercy of a loan shark when her Mum’s boyfriend Craig leaves, and takes the TV with him. Already restricted to core-subjects, Missy bunks off to repay the debt by working at Linda the loan shark’s burger van, but Emma is determined to get her back into school. Meanwhile, Mandy finds herself getting jealous over Steve, when his ex turns up at the school, but is it too late for their relationship? Rashid brings flowers to Kaneez to apologise but things go from bad to worse when he reveals he thinks Razia has a learning difficulty.

Episode 3

Still reeling from the revelation of Iqbal’s secret family, Kaneez confronts the other woman and decides she wants to take her life back. When Rashid asks her out on a date, Kaneez realizes she needs to put her happiness first for once. Meanwhile, Sadiq and Mandy want more diversity in the school play and Emma and Sami’s affair is galvanised when he helps her convince the Asian pupils to audition for the new school production. Elsewhere, Missy is desperate for her family and friends to come to terms with her boyfriend. However Hayley’s insecurities about men come to a head when she clashes with Missy over Aaron. Will Hayley end up pushing Aaron away with her actions?   A furious Emma confronts Will regarding a misunderstanding about Chloe, however the last thing she expects to hear is Will’s shocking revelation.
