Alisa Pomeroy will be joining Channel 4’s Factual Commissioning Team next month as Documentaries Commissioning Editor, reporting to Head of Documentaries Nick Mirsky.

Pomeroy has directed a number of standout single films and directed the first three series of the critically-acclaimed 24 Hours in Police Custody - for which she received a BAFTA nomination for Best Director of Factual.

Mirsky says: “Alisa is one of the most talented people working in the documentary industry at the moment, with experience across a range of top quality observational and formatted programmes.  Her films are characterised by a mixture of wit, intelligence and humanity and those are the core qualities we want to express in our documentaries output.  We are very lucky to have her joining us.”

Pomeroy’s credits also include: The Island with Bear Grylls; senior producing two series of The Apprentice; directing films airing in the BBC’s Wonderland strand - as well as working on the BBC2 series The Armstrongs.

She says: "I'm really looking forward to working as part of the Channel 4 Documentaries team. It is a great opportunity to continue the channel's tradition of producing impactful and innovative films, and to work with the best new and established talent in the industry."
