All 4 app launches on new Android devices

Category: News Release

Channel 4 today announced that users of a range of new Android devices will now be able to watch All 4, giving them free access to the broadcaster’s on-demand and digital content for the first time.

From 4th August, Channel 4 programmes such as First Dates and Made in Chelsea as well as C4 favourites like The Inbetweeners and Peep Show will be available to view on a number of the latest Android devices.

The app will be available on Android devices including the Samsung Galaxy S7, the Google Nexus 6p, the LG G5 and the HTC 10.

Users will also be able to watch live broadcasts from all of Channel 4’s channels using All 4’s Watch Live feature, launched this year.

Sarah Milton, All 4 Head of Product at Channel 4 said: “The All 4 app is a great way to enjoy all the best Channel 4 content so we are thrilled even more people will now be able to access All 4 through their Android device.”

Also released today is an exciting new feature for All 4 users: ‘My4’. My4 is a new area in the All 4 Android app that will help users quickly find and resume shows they have recently been watching.

With My4, users will also have the ability to begin watching a show on the all4.com website and then pick up right where they left off on an Android device. Channel 4 will be adding more features to this area in the coming months.

All 4 – the home for all of Channel 4’s digital services – first launched on Android at the end of last year following a trial of a preview app to the broadcaster’s Core4 viewer panel which invited Android users to help shape the app ahead of its wider release. Channel 4 continues to invite users to help shape All 4 through the Core4 viewer panel.
