All 4 Shorts: June Highlights

Shorts are Channel 4's original short form videos available on All 4 and this month we have a variety of shows for you. From learning about the booming marijuana industry of Colorado in The Highs and Lows of the Weed Business, to finding out what it takes to be a young broker in London with Broker Boys, June’s content covers a diverse range of topics. The month also sees fresh episodes of existing series’ In Bed with Jamie and Supercars, all coming to the service in June*.

 

Top Dad – Live 16th June

Actor and rapper Ashley Walters (aka Asher D) has seven children. To be the best dad he can, he’s on a journey to meet fathers from all walks of life to hear their stories and learn from their experiences.

Dad at 17, Super Dad at 19: In the first episode, Ashley meets a young father who adopted his sister’s children after she had a life-changing accident. With kids of his own, we find out how this dad copes at such a young age.

Dad in a Dress: Ashley meets transgender boxing manager, Kellie Maloney. Kellie reveals that her kids still call her dad, and the two discuss how the transition has affected family life.

Ex-Gangster Dad: This episode features a dad who used to be part of a notorious London gang. With four kids, he’s left a life of crime behind him to focus on bringing them up in the best way he can.

Dwarf Dad: Ashley meets a dad of two with dwarfism. One child is a little person, while the other isn’t. How does this dad’s parenting skills fare on the two? Does his experience growing up a dwarf change his relationship with his children?

Bridge-Climbing Single Dad: In this episode, Ashley meets the founder of Fathers4Justice, which orchestrates stunts to highlight the struggles fathers go through in family courts. Ashley finds out what motivated him to start, and 15 years later, what inspires him to continue.

Online Porn Star Dad: How would you feel if your parents were porn stars? For Chris Piston’s kids, that’s a reality. Ashley meets Chris, and asks how he’s handling the situation – particularly when it comes to the big talk about sex…

 

Broker Boys – Live 27th May

Following three young brokers from London, working hard, playing harder. An unprecedented access to the lives of brokers – documenting their movements in business and pleasure. How do they seal a deal? What do they spend their money on? Does their line of work bring them luck with the ladies?

Best in the Business: We meet 25-year-old George, an investment and watch broker who shows us how he clinches a deal, and Francesco, a diamond broker who transports his valuable stones via Vespa.

The Battle for Clients: When it comes to winning business, sometimes wining and dining just isn’t enough. Follow George and Francesco as they look for ways to set themselves apart from their competitors.

Seal the Deal: This episode introduces us to Harry, an 18-year-old investment banker intent on becoming a millionaire by the time he’s 21.

Love Lives: These brokers are making deals by day, and breaking hearts by night. So how do these London lads find the time to work on their love lives? And with the city full of gold-diggers, how do they know the ladies are in it for more than their money?

Splash the Cash: Earning all that money carries the burden of having to spend it. Catch a glimpse of how the boys rid their pockets full of cash with daily haircuts, clothes shopping sprees and celebrity parties.

Broker Boxing: In the world of brokerage, boxing seems to be the way to relieve tensions. See George and Francesco in training, and find out what it is about the sport that brokers love.

 

The Highs and Lows of the Weed Business – Live 27th May

What happens when you make weed legal? Take a trip to Colorado to find out from the growers, sellers, consumers and entrepreneurs behind its booming legal cannabis industry.

420: Celebrating 420 in Denver – weed’s unofficial international holiday – are the marijuana advocates who come together to spark one up in honour of state legalisation. We also hear about the history of the day itself.

The Cannabist: In this episode, find out what the legalisation of weed is doing for journalism in Denver. We hear from editors of The Cannabist on the way the city has changed since 2012, and how they provide coverage of a city with more medical marijuana stores than Starbucks’

Weed Security: Since the legalisation of marijuana in Colorado, the state has seen more than just the weed-dispensing industry booming. The weed security industry is smoking hot right now, and we follow ex-military and law enforcement personnel as they transport cash and drugs around the city.

Growing Ganja: We hear from the CEO of Medicine Man about the highs and lows of producing over two tonnes of weed every year.

Medical Marijuana: Medical marijuana was legalised in Colorado back in 2000, we find out how weed is helping those with medical problems and see how it’s now regulated.

Marijuana Money Men: With 12,000 dispensaries expected to be open in the US by 2020, many people are benefitting from the “green rush”. We hear from the founders of PotGuide.com on the highs of being a weed start-up, and the difficulties in securing investment.

 

Superpets – Live 27th May

We all love our pets. But there’s a small percentage of pets that go the extra mile. From rats sniffing out landmines in Tanzania, to a boa constrictor able to alert its epileptic owner of an upcoming seizure, this series examines the amazing animals that do their bit for humankind.

 

In Bed with Jamie – New episodes available

Dive under the covers with Made in Chelsea’s very own Jamie Laing as he shares a bed with mystery guests, cheekily quizzing his companions on their scandalous activities. It’s a carnival atmosphere as Jamie and his pals promise to captivate audiences with charm, wit and guaranteed hilarity.

Ben Hanlin: Magician Ben Hanlin shows Jamie his favourite card trick and talks about how one becomes a magician. Ben then teaches Jamie how to do his own card trick but can he master it?

Caggie Dunlop: Former apple of Spence Matthew’s eye Caggie Dunlop spends bedtime with long-time friend Jamie. Find out what Caggie’s been up to since she left Made in Chelsea, and why she never did end up with Spencer.

Matt Draper: Made in Chelsea’s new hunk Matt Draper hits the hay with Jamie and we learn what Matt looks for in a girl, before the duo try chat up lines on each other… in French.

 

Supercars – New episodes available

Supercars is presented by British rapper, musician and supercar lover Elliot Gleave, aka Example. In this series, he visits a raft of people around the UK obsessed with supercars. Will Elliot keep up with the petrol heads, or will their car-mania leave him feeling exhausted?

Supercar Dating: Elliot meets the dating agency with a difference.

Gumball Special: The Gumball rally comes to London.
