Ardal O'Hanlon Joins London Irish
Category: News ReleaseIrish comedy star Ardal O’Hanlon has just wrapped filming on the new Channel 4 comedy London Irish, written by Derry born Lisa McGee, whose own experience of London life has more than prepared her to write a tale or two about young Irish friends living in London.
The show will transmit on C4 in the autumn and tells the story of four ex-pat Northern Irish friends as they attempt to survive London life. Ardal plays Da to Conor and Bronagh, brother and sister, played by Kerr Logan and Sinead Keenan alongside their two friends, Packy - Patrick to his mother - (Peter Campion) and Niamh (Kat Reagan). Ma is played by Tracey Lynch.
Ardal said: “London Irish is a fresh, cheerfully outrageous, no-limits comedy. There isn't a taboo that goes unexplored. I'm delighted to play Da who's oblivious to all that. The writing is fearlessly funny and the cast ridiculously charismatic."
London Irish was commissioned by Nerys Evans, Deputy Head of Comedy and is produced by Company Pictures. The Executive Producers are Caroline Leddy and Liz Lewin.
