August sees increase in 4oD viewing

Channel 4's monthly report on 4oD viewing reveals that VoD consumption of Channel 4 programmes has continued to grow in August, attracting 31m long form VoD views across all platforms, up from 29m in July.
Year to date VoD views to C4 programmes now stand at 273m, representing 20.9% uplift on the same period last year.
Hit comedy series The Inbetweeners was the top performing series, drawing 2.2m views for Season 1 in August, whilst Hollyoaks continued its popularity on 4oD with 2.1m views.
The third most popular title on 4oD was new E4 Comedy Drama series, Beaver Falls, which pulling in 1.4m VoD views across all platforms, during August.
Comedy was the top genre for VoD views in August, with 9.5m views, whilst entertainment scored 8.7m views thanks to hit shows including 8 Out of 10 Cats. Drama, boosted by the popularity of series such as The Killing, received 5.3m views.
The core 4oD platform - 4oD on channel4.com - has seen an increase in activity in August with 3.6m average monthly unique viewers, spending an average of 25.4 minutes viewing content. The average hours viewed per month per unique user also increased from 1.8m in July to 2m in August.
