BAFTA winning drama Boy A starring Andrew Garfield comes to All 4
Category: News Release
Based on the award-winning novel by Jonathan Trigell, Boy A is a powerful coming of age drama about Jack (Garfield) a young man who has spent most of his life in institutions paying for a terrible crime he committed as a minor.
The critically acclaimed single drama won a BAFTA for Best Actor – Andrew Garfield, and for Best Director – John Crowley; and a Broadcasting Press Guild Award for Best Single Drama when it aired on Channel 4 in 2007.
At 24 years old Jack (Garfield) is released into an unrecognisable adult world with a new name, a new job; a new life. Only his case worker, Terry (Mullan) knows his true identity. But anonymity is both a blessing and a curse as Jack, desperate to re-build his life and seize this second chance, has to contend with not being able to tell the people he gets to know, and love, of his true past and the monstrous secret he must keep hidden.
Boy A reunites award-winning director John Crowley (Brooklyn, Intermission) with writer Mark O’Rowe (Intermission, Broken) and also stars Shaun Evans and Katie Lyons.
Produced by Lynn Horsford (The Mark of Cain), with Tally Garner and Nick Marston as executive producers for CUBA Pictures and Liza Marshall for Channel 4.
Boy A is available exclusively on All 4 from Monday 5th February
