Big Fat Ratings success for Channel 4

My Big Fat Gypsy Christmas, a one-off observational documentary following the celebrations and traditions of members of the Irish traveller community at Christmas time, drew an audience of 5.8 million/23.5% (C4 Total) last night, with an impressive 5-minute peak for audience volume of 6.6 million.

Critically acclaimed Shane Meadows' drama This is England '88 launched  with 2.5 million/14.5% (C4 Total), which makes it Channel 4's highest rating drama launch of 2011 (live+vosdal). The audience 5-min peak for volume was 3.4 million, in the first instalment of the three part series, which airs on consecutive nights across this week.
