The winners of this year’s British Comedy Awards, sponsored by Lidl, have been crowned.

Jonathan Ross hosted the awards ceremony that saw Jack Whitehall awarded the King of Comedy title for the third year running by the Great British Public.

The awards ceremony saw The IT Crowd’s Katherine Parkinson win Best TV Comedy Actress and Harry Enfield win Best TV Comedy Actor for Harry & Paul’s Story of the Twos, which also picked up Best Sketch Show.  

Would I Lie To You’s Lee Mack was crowned Best Male TV Comic and 8 Out of 10 Cat’s Aisling Bea won Best Female TV Comic.

Best New Comedy was awarded to Toast of London while Best Comedy Breakthrough artist was awarded to Nick Helm for his role in Uncle.

Graham Norton celebrated a double win, taking home Best Comedy Entertainment Programme and best Comedy Entertainment Personality.

For the second year running Would I Lie To You won Best Comedy Panel Show and Moone Boy stole the crown for the Best Sitcom.

The Inbetweeners 2 also had a good night winning Best Comedy Film, BBC’s Rev was crowned Best Comedy Drama, while Modern Family was titled Best International Comedy Programme and Carpark won the award for Best Internet Comedy Short.

Brendan O’Carroll was honoured with the The Writer’s Guild of Great Britain Award for Mrs Browns Boys and the British Comedy Academy Lifetime Achievement Award was awarded to Monty Python and collected, upon their request by Dara O’Briain.

                
Citation readers at the awards included Steph and Dom Parker, Jo Brand, Joey Essex, Daisy Lowe and Adam Hills.
