C4 announces first celebrity competitors for The Jump 2017

Channel 4 confirmed today that Welsh Rugby International player Gareth Thomas, World Cup Winner and England Rugby Captain Jason Robinson OBE, and former Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews as the first celebrities to strap on their skis and join the line-up for epic winter sports show The Jump.

Spencer appeared alongside Channel 4’s Chief Creative Officer, Jay Hunt, at the broadcaster’s Upfronts 2017 event for the advertising industry which took place at The Roundhouse in London on 15th November.

It was announced earlier this year that The Jump would return for a fourth series in early 2017 after a thorough review of safety standards following the last series. Series three averaged 2.3m million viewers across the six week run. Once again the series will film in Austria and air over six weeks and with Davina McCall at the helm.

Commissioned by Head of Popular Factual Liam Humphreys and Commissioning Editor, Live & Events Tom Beck the show is co-produced by Twofour and GroupM Entertainment. Melanie Leach, Andrew Mackenzie and Caroline Davies return as Executive Producers for Twofour and Abigail Adams for GroupM Entertainment.
