C4 Features invites you to a Journey to the Centre of Your Plate

Channel 4 features has commissioned from Keo Films Journey to the Centre of Your Plate.  This new formatted food series will follow the journeys made by Britain’s best-loved foods; from field, farm, harbour and river to supermarket shelves, dinner tables, shops,  restaurants and a few very surprising destinations 
The series will reveal the inner workings and secrets of the UK's food distribution web to reveal where our food comes from and how the food we eat connects us all.  Each half-hour show will weave together the stories of one shipment of two products both of which will begin their journeys in two very different locations.  Also featured will be the very charismatic producers who send their wares on their way, those who process, package and distribute and sell as well as the consumers who buy, cook and eat the end product.
Each shipment will be followed with meticulous detail and accounts made for every last punnet, crate, box and kilo.  The 'journey' will trace the destiny of the entire harvest, batch or catch. 
Along the way, we’ll draw breath for a look inside some of our best known British food institutions from tea rooms to fish and chip shops and leading supermarkets and kitchens of some of London’s most exclusive hotels.
