Caitlin and Caz Moran's wolf pack set to return to Channel 4

Category: News Release

Channel 4 today confirmed the re-commission of the Caitlin & Caz Moran penned comedy series, Raised By Wolves. The Big Talk produced 6 x 30 series will shoot this Autumn and air in 2016.

Starring Helen Monks, Alexa Davies, Rebekah Staton and Philip Jackson, the critically acclaimed comedy attracted an average audience of 1.3m viewers and a 6.3% share of audience per episode making it Channel 4’s second highest rating comedy of 2015 to date.

Set on a Wolverhampton council estate, Raised By Wolves is a modern day re-imagining of the brilliant chaos of Caitlin and Caz’s childhood – loads of kids, no money and home-schooled. The first series garnered rave reviews from viewers and critics alike and Rebekah Staton’s portrayal of matriarch Della was deemed to be one of the best performances of the year so far.

Caitlin Moran commented, “Our mission from God (copyright The Blues Brothers) continues with series two of Raised By Wolves, in which strong working class women continue to be as weird, unpleasant and amazing as men. We’re going to try and top Germaine's whilst wank looking at David Dimbleby during Question Time - I just need to send an email to Evan Davies from Newsnight to get his okay.”

Co-writer and co-creator Caz Moran said, “I am mega-stoked we are putting the band back together. This is truly bostin’news. I have assembled the giant box of bananas, the fingerless gloves and the Mad Max: Fury Road soundtrack I will need to get me through the writing process and will now seal myself into the comedy creation bunker. Big up Channel 4!"

Fiona McDermott, Commissioning Editor for Comedy at Channel 4 said, “We are delighted to welcome the wolves back into the Channel 4 den. Della’s brood are one of the most original and refreshingly funny families to be on our screens for a long time, we can’t wait to see what these ‘midland twats’ get up to in series 2.

Kenton Allen, Chief Executive of Big Talk added, “The reaction to the first series of Raised By Wolves exceeded all of our collective expectations. And I’m from the West Midlands so genetically my expectations are always pretty low. Rest assured the Garry family will back in full Black Country force, this time with added Dad!’”

A Big Talk production, Raised By Wolves was commissioned by Fiona McDermott, Commissioning Editor for Comedy at Channel 4 and will be executive produced by Big Talk Chief Executive, Kenton Allen and Caroline Leddy.
